The Proctored ALEKS Exam
Students can take the Proctored ALEKS Exam in order to receive course credit for College Algebra (Math 1100). In particular, students who wish to place directly into Math 1300 (without a College Algebra exemption or prior course credit) are required to pass the Proctored ALEKS Exam.
NOTE:
Students who will take Calculus at MU (Math 1400, 1500, 1700, or 2300) should not take the Proctored ALEKS Exam. Students will receive backcredit for Math 1100 or 1160 upon completion of the appropriate Calculus course.
You will only be eligible to earn course credit through the Proctored ALEKS Exam if (a) you have earned fewer than 90 hours of college credit, AND (b) you have no official record of previous enrollment in the course(s) in which credit is to be received (see https://admissions.missouri.edu/applyfreshmen/collegecredits/)

Contact MU Testing Services for specific dates and times
Students should consult with an academic adviser prior to registering for the Proctored ALEKS Exam.
The Proctored ALEKS Exam is similar to the nonproctored ALEKS assessment (but not identical), and it is administered in a proctored setting. Students should take the nonproctored ALEKS assessment on their own before registering for a proctored exam, so that they have an idea of what to expect.
Students who earn 66% or higher on the nonproctored ALEKS assessment would be good candidates for earning credit via the Proctored ALEKS Exam (a score of 55% on the Proctored ALEKS Exam will provide credit for Math 1100).
Students will be allotted 2 hours to complete the Proctored ALEKS Exam; some of this time will be spent for administration of the exam, and logging into the computers.
If a student passes the Proctored ALEKS Exam with a score of 55% or above, they will receive course credit for Math 1100 (College Algebra). See http://admissions.missouri.edu/apply/apibandcollegecredits/departmentalexamination.php for further details.
